Smiles Change Lives

Dr. Casagrande is making a difference in the lives of underserved children in our community.

We are proud partners of Smiles Change Lives, a national nonprofit organization that helps low-income children get braces. Smiles Change Lives is the nation’s leader in providing access to orthodontic care for underserved youth.

Dr. Casagrande was selected to treat approved SCL patients. This means that SCL can put his good intentions to work by finding the kids who most need braces.

"I am proud to be a part of an outstanding organization like Smiles Change Lives. Through SCL we can enhance the lives of children in our community that could not otherwise afford the benefits of orthodontics,” shares Dr. Casagrande. "SCL makes it easy and possible for these children to apply and begin treatment, resulting in a healthy and beautiful smile!”

Dr. Casagrande has joined a unique network of orthodontists to form a national coalition to help local kids receive access to orthodontic care. Qualifications for this program are:

  • Submit an application – www.smileschangelives.org/apply
  • Must be 10-18 years old
  • Must have crooked teeth and/or misaligned jaws
  • Family’s household taxable income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (http://www.smileschangelives.org/qualify for more information)
  • Must have good oral hygiene
  • Be motivated to comply with program guidelines and treatment plans

A child’s oral health and social development should not be compromised due to financial hardships. Dentists, parents, teachers, nurses and all who work with low-income families are encouraged to download an application to nominate a child (http://www.smileschangelives.org/apply). To request an application or for more information, please call toll-free 1 (888) 900-3554 or email info@smileschangelives.org.
