Your first visit to Northern Virginia Orthodontics will include: diagnostic records, an orthodontic exam, and a consultation with Dr. Casagrande. These records include a medical/dental history, digital panoramic x-ray, and digital photos. They are taken to determine the best course of treatment and are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan which will be shared with you during the appointment. We understand that your time is valuable and that your schedule may be hectic. Between work, school, sports, homework, last-minute meetings and traffic, it can be a difficult juggling act for parents. It is our intent to provide you with all of your orthodontic options, length of treatment, and costs associated at your complementary first visit. Our digital technology enables us to do so with accuracy, efficiency, and safety. Your Second Visit This is where your orthodontic treatment will begin in most cases! We will gather any additional records needed and start your active orthodontic treatment. This usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Regular Appointments You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 30 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you do the same. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance. |
